BSC Episode 4 9.5.2026 – Saturday Mornings 8am to 10am SWR 99.9 FM

🔌 Connection Through Dance

This week’s Switch Off & Connect challenge was simple:

Put your phone down… turn some music on… and dance. Not for social media. Not because you’re good at it. Not because anyone’s watching. Just because it feels good.

Dance in the kitchen. In the backyard. In the lounge room with your family. With friends. With your kids. Or completely by yourself. Because movement changes energy.

And sometimes connection doesn’t happen through conversation… sometimes it happens through shared rhythm, laughter, and simply joining in.

Piper’s Switch Off & Connect idea this week was to organise a catch up or even a small dance party with friends and put on some of your favourite festival-themed or upbeat songs.

No pressure. No judgement. Just music, connection, and fun.

This week, give yourself permission to let go of perfection and reconnect with joy.

“Dance like nobody is watching.”

🔌 Mother’s Day Edition

This week’s Switch Off & Connect challenge was simple:

Show up.

Not with perfection.
Not with expensive gifts.
Just with presence.

Listeners were encouraged to:

  • cook a meal together
  • play a board game
  • go for a walk
  • sit around the table
  • watch a movie together
  • or simply spend uninterrupted time with someone they care about

Because often the greatest gift is simply connection.

Each week, I’ll share one simple idea to help you step away from screens and reconnect.

🔌 Create Your Own Festival

This week’s Switch Off & Connect was simple:

Create your own mini festival moment.

It could be:

  • A BBQ or picnic turned into a food festival
  • Backyard games with a theme
  • A family “stage” with music, dress-ups, and performances

No pressure. No expectations.

Just connection.

And maybe most importantly…

step away from the constant online searching.

Instead:

  • Talk to the people around you
  • Ask questions
  • Learn from your elders
  • Share stories

Because sometimes… the best ideas — and the strongest connections — come from real conversations.

“And if you’re looking for ways to share First Nations history with your children…

this is a really meaningful place to start.

Taking the time to understand what a Welcome to Country or an Acknowledgement of Country is all about…

and why it matters.

Because when we build that understanding…

we give our kids something really important — the power of knowledge.

So when moments arise… or things are discussed in the media…

they can approach it with awareness, respect, and their own informed perspective.

And that’s how we continue to grow stronger, more connected communities.”
