Building Stronger Communities | 8.8.2026
“Strong men don’t have to have all the answers. Strong men don’t have to hide their emotions. Strong men don’t have to walk through life alone.”
🌱 What Does It Really Mean to Be a Strong Man?
For generations, many boys grew up hearing the same messages:
“Don’t cry.”
“Be tough.”
“Handle it yourself.”
While resilience is important, we’ve also learned that suppressing emotions and avoiding difficult conversations can come at a cost—to men, their families and the communities around them.
This episode of Building Stronger Communities explores a different definition of strength.
One built on empathy, accountability, respect and genuine connection.
Our conversations are not about blaming men.
They are about supporting men.
Because when men are supported to build healthy relationships and seek help early, families and communities become stronger.

🧠 Brain Energy with Luke Evans
Luke delivers one of his most thought-provoking Brain Energy segments yet.
His message challenges us to rethink strength, vulnerability and connection in a way that stayed with me long after the recording ended.
💡 Knowledge is Power
Family and domestic violence is not only physical.
Knowledge is the first step in recognising unhealthy behaviours, understanding respectful relationships and encouraging people to seek support before lives are changed forever.
This week’s segment explores why prevention matters just as much as intervention.
📵 Switch Off & Connect
This week’s challenge is simple.
Put the phone down.
Pick up the phone.
Or better still…
Catch up with a mate.
Whether it’s over a coffee, a walk, a round of golf or at your local sporting club, meaningful conversations help build stronger friendships, stronger families and stronger communities.
💙 Michelle’s Reflection
One of the messages that stayed with me while preparing this episode was this:
Not every man needs counselling. But every man needs connection.
For some men that might be The Men’s Table.
For others it could be a golf club, a cycling group, a Men’s Shed, a walking group, a sporting club or volunteering alongside others.
The activity isn’t always the reason people keep coming back.
Connection is.
Perhaps one of the most important things we can all do is create environments where men feel safe to be honest, support one another and ask for help without judgement.

❤️ Final Thoughts
Supporting women and children experiencing family and domestic violence will always remain essential.
At the same time, preventing violence means also supporting men to recognise unhealthy behaviours, seek help early and build respectful relationships.
Real strength isn’t measured by how much we can carry alone.
It’s measured by the courage to listen.
The courage to change.
The courage to ask for help.
And the courage to support someone else.
Because stronger men help build stronger families.
And stronger families help build stronger communities.
